LETTER #59 of “LETTERS TO MY YOUNG ADULT CHILDREN AND TO A WOKE, DECEIVED AND UNLOVED GENERATION” (Letter 59) by Daniel Whyte III, Author of the National Bestselling Books: LETTERS TO YOUNG BLACK MEN and LETTERS TO YOUNG BLACK WOMEN First written over 30 years ago.
LETTER 59
LET’S GIVE GOD PRAISE FOR 12,775 DAYS AND 35 CHRISTMAS EVE’s. ON THIS CHRISTMAS EVE, LET US ALL BE THANKFUL AND GRATEFUL WE ARE ALL ABLE TO SEE ANOTHER CHRISTMAS EVE
Dear Danae, Danita, Daniel, Danni, Danyelle Elizabeth, Danyel Ezekiel, Daniqua Grace, Danielle Tekeela, Duran, and Kywaizia:
This Christmas Eve, those of you who are truly saved, can do this pretty easily; for those of you who are not truly saved it will be hard for you to do this: and that is to be thankful to God for Him allowing us to see another Christmas Eve and hopefully another Christmas in this sin-cursed world. Yes, we ought to practice Thanksgiving on Christmas. Now that you have seen Meriqua Whyte’s mother and aunts in action, and now that you have seen my mother and sisters in action, your job going forward through the power of Christ is not to be like them. I say through the power of Christ because I believe that both parties are not born-again saved, just like Meriqua Whyte is not born-again saved. If you are born-again saved you have Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit living inside of you, and through that power for those of you who are saved, you know when things are wrong and you are moved by the Holy Spirit to do what is right from your inside and your heart and spirit.
So do not go through this Christmas Holy Day season copping a bad attitude like my mother and sisters do and like Meriqua Whyte always does. She has a permanent demonic bad attitude as does her mother and aunts. And do not go through this wonderful Christmas season arguing and fussing at each other and with people; being rebellious and stubborn, and not being submissive when it is even to your benefit; being mad at people and angry at people, and using the silent treatment against them; not speaking to them for days and weeks; having demonic, grim, woke looks like you have been brainwashed and lost your mind; using real, nasty curse words that you never heard in my house, unless they came out of one of your mouths; sneaking off somewhere and leaving your younger siblings behind, which is dangerous, because you do not want them around you because of the evil you are doing, or leaving your friends around your younger siblings, which is dangerous also; being naive and gullible like Meriqua Whyte; letting people gaslight you, use you, and manipulate you to even betray the only person you have in your life who loves you for you and at the same time hate the one person who does love you for yourself and not because of what you can do for him — your Papa. I know you don’t see it now, but one day you’re going to regret it with bitter tears.
So instead of being like Meriqua Whyte’s mother and aunt, my mother and your aunts, and like your mother let’s choose to do what we did before you were told to meet with them. Let’s all choose again to be grateful for the 12,775 days that God has given us in this family, and let’s be thankful for the multiplied thousands of answers to prayer, the thousands of miracles to get us where we are today, the thousands of devotions together, the thousands of pages we read together — not to mention the millions of pages we all have read individually, the thousands of sermons preached and heard, the thousands of times we sung hymns together, the thousands of gospel tracts that we passed out together for the Lord, the thousands of Christians who have been encouraged through the preaching of God’s Word from our home, the thousands of people who have heard the gospel preached from our home, the thousands of souls saved from our home, the thousands of demons and Judas-spirit attempted attacks thwarted, the thousands of meals that came straight from God like manna from heaven through prayer and faith that we enjoyed, and on and on and on. Let’s be thankful, and give God the glory on Christmas Eve 2023 and hopefully on Christmas 2023. Our God and our Saviour Jesus Christ are still on the throne.
THE CHRISTMAS STORY CONTINUES: Luke 2:41-46
Along with prayer and passing out Gospel tracts, the main thing we did to honor Jesus Christ for Christmas was read the Christmas story, preach the Gospel on Christmas Day, and have a good Christmas celebration meal but not as big as Thanksgiving. A VERY SIMPLE CHRISTMAS. I have precious memories. I hope you do too. Precious memories are one of the greatest benefits of living for the Lord. The Christmas story continues:
Luke 2:41-46:
41 Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.
42 And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.
43 And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.
44 But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day’s journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.
45 And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.
46 And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them and asking them questions.
MY DECEMBER 24th LOVING CHRISTMAS DEVOTIONAL TEXT IS Mark 11:22-26: “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.”
A Prayer for Healing this Christmas Season
“Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses. He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction.” Psalm 107:19-20
The Christmas season is always the time of year filled with so much joy and hope, a spirit of giving, and celebrations with family and friends. Yet that may also be the very reason why those suffering deep heartache, loss, illness, or struggle during this season, may feel the weight of their burdens even more deeply. Maybe many feel alone. Or forgotten. Maybe some wonder why God isn’t answering their prayers, or why his answers seem so long in coming. If you find yourself there right now or are praying for a loved one through a difficult time, take heart in this word from Psalms:
“Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He sent forth his word and healed them, he rescued them from the grave.”
We have a place we can go to. We can cry out to God and be assured He does hear. And He cares.
God saves. He did then, and He does still.
He sent forth his word and healed them. And God never changes.
He rescued them. And He rescues us today.
Through Christ alone, we can find true healing – from physical illness and pain, from past wounds and difficult memories, from the heartache of deep loss, from addiction, despair, and even in the relationships that have been broken.
God already knows of the wounds we’ve carried. He knows the pain we’ve felt. He knows how much we’ve tried to let go and fix things in our power. Let’s set aside our fears and move toward Him today, in faith.
For He is able.
He is powerful.
He cares.
He heals.
He restores.
He redeems.
Dear God,
You already know the pain we’ve carried, the deep wounds, the feelings of loss and heartache. You know how we’ve so often lost hope. Wondering if we’ll ever be truly free from this burden. It feels too great some days. We desperately need your healing and grace. We need your peace and our hope restored. We need to be reminded that you work on behalf of those you love, constantly, powerfully, and completely. Forgive us for trying to fix our situations all on our own. Forgive us for running in different directions and spinning our wheels to find help, when true help and healing must be found first in You. Forgive us for forgetting how much we need you, above everyone and everything else. We come to you and bring you the places we are hurting. You see where no one else can fully see or understand. You know all the places where we need to be set free, even those we’re not aware of. We ask for your healing and grace to cover every broken place. Every wound. Every heartache. Thank you that you are able to do far more than we could ever imagine. Thank you for your mighty power that acts on behalf of your children. We reach out to you, and know that you are restoring and redeeming every place of difficulty, every battle, for your greater glory. Thank you that you will never waste our pain and suffering. We love you. We need you today.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen.
